I enjoy working through compliance work. There is a real sense of accomplishment when you finish a project, and it is all signed off. Working in different industries and clients is the best way you can learn in the field as every client is different.
I greatly enjoy the physical nature of my role. After spending a significant amount of time working almost entirely from behind a desk, I started to miss the exercise and even the feeling of making physical progress that comes with working on-site.
I was inspired to become an engineer by a mixture of my Grandad and Top Gun. My Grandad served in the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as a Navigator and spent his whole career in the RAAF.

Each of the summer interns is given a long-term project to work on during their time at Rheinmetall, and mine is to develop the Cosite EMC test... As such I have to incorporate a whole host of skills into my day.
What’s the takeaway from my story? That not everything is simple and sometimes the path that we end up taking isn’t the one we had in mind, but the one that is presented to us.
