Job Description

You will provide client relationship support to our Wealth Advisory division, working closely with the team to ensure the delivery of exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ascertaining data for review of client investment portfolios.
  • Report writing of Record of Advice documents including investment recommendations with a focus on structure and strategy.
  • Assist in implementation of changes to portfolios following regular review process.
  • Update and maintain client data in Xplan
  • Attend to time recording and costing requirements as part of firm’s time costing system.
  • Market firm’s services as and when appropriate.
  • Carry out all lawful directions as given by the Partners of the firm generally.
  • Monitor the completion of work to ensure that it remains within time restraints.

About You

  • Diploma or Grad Diploma in Financial Planning (either undertaking or completed)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a similar discipline (either undertaking or completed)
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Some demonstrated experience in financial planning desirable
  • Proficiency using XPlan software desirable
  • A current national police check will be required by the successful candidate to undertake and produce prior to accepting the position.

Pros

  • "I believe that in terms of learning, William Buck is hard to match, and I am very satisfied with what I have been taught and trained.

  • My managers are very accessible, friendly and great at teaching. As dictated by the nature our work processes, we engage heavily with our managers, enabling more opportunities for learning and development as well as general bonding. Feedback is generally constructive with the ultimate aim of teaching instead of reprimanding.

  • here is a clear progression map from when you start... merit is rewarded and that the effort employees put into their work do not go unrecognized or unnoticed.

Cons

    • Hours can be long and sometimes it’s hard to disconnect, but that is more of an industry thing rather than specific to WB.

    • The only real problem I have encountered so far is tech issues.

    • Being a grad means no flexibility to work from home until after the probation period.

    • After-hours work is limited only to the busy season (though recently I have stayed back more than usual to get projects out to clients).

    • There does sometimes feel as though there is a lack of processes and frameworks in place, but it also gives room for initiative and freedom.
