Our Summer Intern Program
Join our paid 10-week program. Itโs a great way to explore a career with Westpac Group and get a taste of what itโs like to work with us. Designed so that you get a real insight into the diverse opportunities at Westpac Group โ the summer intern program gives you what you need to make an informed career decision.
The program runs from early December to February for 10 weeks and gives you the opportunity to be considered for the graduate program.
You can apply if youโre in the second last (penultimate) year of your degree. You also need to be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident when you apply.

What we do for our customers
Our Financial Markets business is a leading provider of financial solutions across foreign exchange, interest rates, credit, and commodities markets.
Our Treasury team provide market-leading funding, liquidity, and risk management of Westpacโs balance sheet, enabling all Westpac businesses to service their customers.
Rotation areas
You will gain hands on experience, where you are an integral part of a team to help deliver solutions for our customers. Internship placements could cover: Treasury, Fixed Income Currencies & Commodities (FICC) Trading, Institutional Client Group, Economics & Strategy, Frequent Borrowers & Syndicate, Commercial, Business & Corporate Solutions (CBCS), Digital & Platforms, or Quantitative Trading.

A lot of admin work - booking meetings, writing minutes, making presentation packs, liaising with eas to organise higher-ups attendance. a lot of work is given to you that others in the team would rather not do - the important thing is to have a good attitude regardless of how passionate you are about it as that attitude is what people will talk about when you roll off/apply for internal roles.
