About Transdev Australasia

Transdev Australasia is a leading public transport company. Their local teams of over 5,700 employees operate the train, bus, coach, ferry and light rail services across Australia and New Zealand. With their partners in local government, public authorities and private companies, they deliver over 145 million passenger journeys every year on over 2,050 vehicles and vessels.

Your role

Transdev operates thousands of trips each day, taking customers from A to B. Schedulers enable this, designing timetables for the public and working for the drivers. A giant jigsaw puzzle with real-world outcomes, it’s about balancing maximum reliability with cost-effectiveness. Using your analytical, mathematical and spatial skills, you’ll produce highly optimised scheduling and timetabling solutions that improve the services, and the customer experience and make cities more sustainable.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely and accurate contractual and other schedule exports as required (eg: TODIS for TDNSW, VDS, Mobitec, etc).
  • Provision of reporting data to meet business requirements.
  • Calibration of scheduling software based on all relevant rules and parameters
  • Ensure system and data accuracy and integrity through effective data security, management and record keeping.
  • Maintain and report accurate and complete records of planned costs including work hours, driver headcount, km travelled and peak vehicle requirements.

In the first 18 months, you’ll be placed in their bus, ferry, and light rail as well as head office operations across Australia. You’ll be consulted about your rotation and have a say in which role you take once you’ve finished the program (performance dependent).

Training & development

Transdev Australasia is committed to expanding the horizons of its people by offering diverse career opportunities to make your mark and reach your maximum potential. Their Graduate program offers a unique, 18 months accelerated career start and development path. You will be paired with a senior leader in their business as they guide you through the start of your career. All of this plus added mentoring, performance planning and feedback.

That’s why all their businesses have a core set of personalised training modules tailored to operational teams. We train team members across a wide range of disciplines to provide optimal service to the communities they serve.

Work life balance

Their flexible working program was launched at their head office and the Sydney Light Rail business. With the approval of their line managers, employees can try different ways of working – either remotely or non-standard hours. Their objective is to empower employees to better balance their work and personal commitments and increase their well-being and happiness at work.

Culture & vibe

At Transdev Australasia, they are aiming to build a culture that is accepting of their colleagues’ sexual orientation and supportive of LGBTIQ+ employees across each one of their businesses.
