Doris Zhao

Right now, I'm on a rotation with the Civil team, where I work with a diverse range of engineers. As for me, I'm currently doing risk analysis, project planning, and culvert inspections.

6.50 AM

Tuesday is one of my office days. I get up early at 6:50am to rideshare with my landlord to the city. I usually decide what I'm going to wear and pack my bag the night before so that I won’t stress in the morning. I'm so punctual that I always put on my final coat of mascara at exactly 7:24am!

7.45 AM
It is still quiet at 7:45am, when I get into the office. I usually start the day with black coffee and make sure I'm fully prepared for all the meetings on my schedule by reviewing my inbox and agenda. Typically, I finish up any pressing or technical tasks first thing in the morning and get anything that requires the input of others out to the appropriate parties before 8:30am. In that case, I can get a head start on them before lunchtime while my thoughts are fresh.

12.00 PM

I usually grab some sushi for lunch at noon.

1.00 PM

Most of my meetings start before or after lunch, so I jot down any information or questions I have in my diary. I work on something more general and non-technical in the afternoons, such as completing a Learning & Development tutorial, finishing some CAD drawings, making posters for social events, or downloading data for my hydrology assessments.

4.15 PM

It's 4.15 pm, and I'm getting ready to head home with my landlord. When I get home, I'll change into workout clothes, take a short break, and then get ready for my gym class. Back pains can often be alleviated by engaging in regular exercise!
