Glencore Coal Assets have a number of opportunities opening to graduating or recently graduated university students to join our Graduate Logistics / Commercial Officer Program. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be provided with a stimulating and challenging work environment with exposure to developing your skills across a broad range of disciplines including commercial, finance, logistics and legal.
The primary purpose of your role is to support and contribute to a team that is involved in the operational and commercial aspects of moving coal from mines to customers. This small but high performing team administers all of Glencore Coal Australia's commercial relationships with the Port, Track and Haulage service providers for our Australian Operations. You will assist in administering coal chain contracts, ensuring compliance, from performance through to payment verification. You will be involved in the planning and implementation of both short and long term strategies to optimise coal flow and secure coal chain capacity.
Renowned for being a team player with a 'can-do' attitude, your skills include a high attention to detail. You are a self-starter with excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills and an ability to learn quickly. Working with the logistics operations and commercial teams you will need to prioritise tasks, work autonomously at times, while maintaining positive relationships with relevant stakeholders, including Glencore mine sites and various coal chain organisations.
