I enjoy my role because no two days are the same. Working in R&D I get to use my technical knowledge to solve problems and innovate new products. I am responsible for day-to-day maintenance of formulas and get to work with Manufacturing as well as Marketing to develop new products for our customers.
I work to develop NPD as well as maintaining the current product portfolio. Day-to-day, I balance my time in the lab making formulas and conducting testing, with research, results analysis and meetings.
Interact with customers to ensure profitable growth and satisfaction.

Technology and systems are outdated, and the process to upgrading these are slow
Some of management can be set in their ways (not all) making it hard to push through new ideas.
The outdated systems and convoluted filing systems How old and far the office is
Complicated business structure
It is a large company, which has benefits in terms of lots of different job opportunities in the same company, but a minus would be if you do not drive your own development and career goals you can get lost.
