It seems like the Firm is making genuine steps to being as diverse as possible
Graduate, Auckland - 09 Aug 2021
Strong focus on these.

Large improvement to women in the workplace, LGBT and mat leave, child care etc. Could be retaining more staff by paying more.

I believe that there are always areas for improvement, but I do also think that our firm tries really hard to be inclusive and that there's no discrimination. I have spoken to many female colleagues that say that taking time off to have children etc. has not held them back, which is great to hear! It would be nice to see more women as partners, in senior management etc. though... I am unsure if we have had a woman CEO yet?

There is a big focus on this. It is much appreciated.

Deloitte tries to make sure everyone feels respected and often remind us of their promise to diversity and inclusion. These include references to promotions, maternity/paternity leave, flexible working hours. We have some representation of women, ethnic minorities etc. in the higher management but they are looking to make the make-up of partners better.

There is majority female juniors to try and balance out the majority male seniors. Juniors also tend to be more diverse than seniors. The top roles are not very diverse.

Diversity appears to be good with many female partners and a very diverse range of ethnicity. Good flexible working options however they seem to struggle with retention.

It is growing which is really good

They hire diversified but the culture within the company isn't diverse so the retention of these groups are poor

Cadetship
Midlevel, Auckland - 09 Aug 2021
They have a grow programme for MPI communities and a cadetship programme for those who just want to learn but didn't necessarily go down the traditional uni pathway.
Graduate, Wellington - 09 Aug 2021
We have tried to reach out to societies at uni to reach these sorts of people.
Graduate, Wellington - 09 Aug 2021
I am not aware of any initiatives.
Graduate, Christchurch - 09 Aug 2021
Pas Peau, Tuputoa, heavily engaged in the communities

Connections/Partnership scholarships and programs set up with companies outside the company that will suggest the applicants and the company will look into it
Midlevel, Hamilton - 09 Aug 2021
There is a cool programme for this. Haven't seen it in action but hear about it a lot.
