Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity  

We have an exciting opportunity for a Commerce or Arts student in their second year of study or above to join our Retail team in our Wellington office. Our Retail team focuses on providing energy services to residential and business customers in Aotearoa. They’re responsible for managing customer accounts, billing and, customer service, ensuring we’re doing all we can to create outstanding experiences for our customers. They also focus on helping customers manage their energy usage, offering tools and advice to improve energy efficiency and support sustainability initiatives.  

As an intern within our Retail Business, you will join our Outstanding Customer Experience team who focus on ensuring our customers experience and interactions with Contact are meaningful and valued. What might you be doing? Well, you’ll spend the summer working in our customer well-being team which are committed to the satisfaction, safety and overall wellbeing of Contact’s customers and community. You’ll work closely with our Wellbeing Manager and team to implement new processes and changes to our customer care guidelines, ensuring our standards remain high. 

Your initial focus will be to review existing content and documents. You’ll be doing a lot of reading and identifying areas that need a refresh. You’ll help document and map out our processes, making it easier to support our customers. Once the changes have been identified, you’ll be part of implementing the changes to the guidelines and assist in the creation of internal messaging and communications to keep out team informed and aligned. Overall, the main goal is to make sure the changes align with our guidelines and supports a great customer experience.

We are seeking applications from students ideally in their second year (and above) studying a Commerce or Arts degree.

You’ll also be enrolled in an online learning pathway with eLearning modules to complete over the summer, and you’ll have a dedicated buddy to help support you along the way.
