Beca is a diverse workplace with colleagues from various ethnic backgrounds. They support women in the industry through a gender program. Beca is also friendly and welcoming to the LGBTQIA+ community.

There is a focus on hiring indigenous peoples. Recent changes include increases in parental leave, support for gender reassignment. There is a focus on promoting women to higher levels

Hiring of women, LGBT and ethnic employees is pretty good. Some events have been held to promote and talk about women. Ethnic events have only included Aboriginals and no mention, support, or events has been given to LGBT community. Retention for people with families may be difficult due to the nature of our company where site work and secondments are common leading to distance being put between people and their families. There is a lower than ideal number of women hired. I don't see any exclusive behaviour towards minorities.

Diversity seems okay (relative to the field of engineering). Would like to see more focus on gender diversity in recruitment, such as engaging with universities/student societies.
