Due to internal promotion, we have an opportunity available for a People and Culture Administrator to join our team. This opportunity will suit an Administrator or Assistant looking to continue their career within a high-performing, engaged and supportive team.

This position will support the business in the following areas:

  • End-to-end responsibility for the administration of the employee lifecycle including on-boarding and off-boarding, updates and maintenance of data
  • Administration support to the People & Culture team
  • Assist with People & Culture reporting
  • Ownership of the input and maintenance of payroll data
  • Maintenance of the integrity and confidentiality of individual employee details

This is a very busy role where attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and organise your day is key to your ongoing success in delivering the support the business and the P&C team require.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • High-level organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to work methodically and thoroughly
  • Previous experience working with MS office and the aptitude to learn new systems quickly
  • Previous experience working with Chris or other HRIS would be highly regarded
  • Exceptional communication skills; listening, written and verbal
  • The ability to build effective working relationships at all levels across the business
  • A flexible approach to work with a self-motivated work style including high-level time management skills
  • A proactive and energetic personality with the enthusiasm to learn and develop.

Pros and cons of working at BDO Australia

Pros

  • The culture in and out of the office is great.

  • My colleagues are always willing to get out of their way to help me.

  • Great opportunity to learn. People are nice and not getting annoyed when I ask questions.

  • Never any pressure to stay late.

  • The training is great, I have learned a lot in my time here.

Cons

    • Pay is relatively low, however this is industry-wide.

    • The graduate program doesn't rotate us through all the service lines.

    • Some managers are great and give constructive feedback. Others do not provide you with proper instructions.

    • Dishwashers are small... toilets are not flushed... desk are most of the time dirty.

    • Could include more women, however this is the industry.
